So here's what I've got in terms of writing out the different bits, so far.
Best friends and roommates Lucy and Hannah ate breakfast in their tiny, yet well organised kitchen. Hannah’s spoon clinked the side of the bowl as she tried to get the last bits of cereal. Lucy was still sipping at her first coffee of the day, as she flicked through the newspaper ‘The Carnessia Chronicle’. “There’s going to be a parade in Main Street on Saturday.” Lucy said as she skimmed a page. Clink “What” Clink “for?” asked Hannah. “National Cupcake Day.” Lucy replied without looking up. “Is it that time of year already? Feels like we just had one of those.” Hannah said with a chuckle. “No that was National Cookie Day.” Lucy laughed and folded the paper back up.
They were putting away their dishes, when a newscast broke into the morning show that was on the TV. “King’s Memory Stolen in Bizarre Palace Theft.” Read the news reporter. Both girls shared a concerned glace as a bright pink beacon flashes on the wall and an alarm goes off. “Uh oh.” Exclaims Lucy, as they quickly turn off the TV, opened a closet door, and rushed down a series of steps.
They pressed their right hands up against two panels on an iron door, the panels then lit up with a green glow and the door opened. They walked into a bright white room, in front of them a large screen took up the almost the whole curved wall of this crescent shaped room. “Confusify.” Hannah said sternly. Suddenly the screen light up and the chief of Carnessia police appeared before them. News details ran across the bottom of the screen as he asked for their assistance. “Psychic Mind Twins…The King and Queen of Carnessia need your help!” He said with a desperate tone in his voice. “The king awoke this morning unable to recall any sort of information about who he is, where he is, or even what Carnessia is.” Lucy was already prepping their equipment. “If his memory is not restored soon, then the fate of the kingdom of Carnessia is in great danger.” “We’re on our way Chief.” Hannah answered, hitting a bright green button on a desk. And the screen went dark. Hannah and Lucy each opened a separate door, Hannah’s was emerald green, Lucy’s a hot pink color.
Arriving at the Carnessia City Royal Palace, Hannah and Lucy were met outside by Angus Berryhill, the Chief of Police. “Always a shame to see you two only under such bad circumstances.” He greeted them. “What happened?” They both asked at the exact same time. Chief Berryhill shook his head. “It’s the strangest thing, he just woke up without any memory at all. He doesn’t even know he’s the King.”
They walked up the great rose marble staircase, candy coloured tapestries lined the walls, at the landing stood a 10 foot painting of the King and Queen on their wedding day. –Lucy remembered that day; it was five years ago now. The old King had died a year later.
They were lead into the King’s chamber, where Queen Donnatella dressed in a pale blue gown sat across from her husband showing him pictures of family members, friends and royal occasions, in a bid to get him to recognising something. “Your name is King Joshua Leopold the Third.” She said. “Your father was King Gabriel Elijah, your mother was Alexis Grace Princess of Claudine…” she went on. King Joshua sat there expressionless. Nothing she said caused any sort of recollection at all.
“Excuse me Your Highness.” Said Hannah as she approached the table. The Queen stood up and walked over to join them. “He can’t remember anything?” asked Lucy. “No.” the Queen replied sadly. “He cannot even remember his name…or who I am.”
